I was pretty uninspired by the PSA press release.
Warwick Plunkett was elected as the new PSA President during a Board meeting held in Canberra today………….. Mr Plunkett said the major task for him would be to mould the newly unified organisation into a strong base for the future. My job is primarily to get us off to a solid start with strong foundations,” Mr Plunkett said.
I am unsure what there is to mould. From the outside it was a matter of having a truly national organisation. I would have thought the roles for the states would have been sorted and paid positions sorted out by the CEO. How much longer will it take us to be moulded? If this keeps up PSA might start looking like a 3 week old loaf of bread.
I, and I am sure others, would love to hear how long this “moulding” process will take and what is his vision for the profession of pharmacy in the future.

Edit: Today I have had several calls or emails from reading this in Auspharm. The term “complacency” was used and this quote in an email – “..I thought it had been through the National thing when it opened the Secretariat in Canberra 30 years ago!!.”
However I was emailed “We now need to focus externally and deliver service to the members…..that is the challenge and you should see good changes over the next couple of years and these should be occurring soon”
Lets hope so.
