I commented a few days ago on some drug prices in the States doubling in price. One drug in 2006 increased its price by 3400%
In California the prescription reimbursment paid by Medi-Cal to Californian pharmacists is being cut by 10%
“The ten percent cut in Medi-Cal reimbursement for medicines must be stopped. The cuts are forcing pharmacies to fill prescriptions at a loss, threatening their ability to serve patients, including those who are not on Medi-Cal. Patients with medical needs cannot go without their medications. This is a serious hardship for many Californians and could raise healthcare costs. Please act now to stop these cuts to essential pharmacy services!”
So what did the pharmacists of California do? They sent flowers to the legislature. I kid you not. Go here to look at the pics
There is further information up on the website of the Californian Pharmacists Association. There were lots of speeches and seemed to attract a lot of media
