I put up a word cloud of my blog every now and then.
I produce them to see if the blog is progressing the way I sort of hope it might be sort of thing! Well it has changed a bit since I first started writing about fifteen months ago. I now write a bit more widely on other health and indigenous issues as well as placing a lot of news links (sorted by theme) and place a little blurb at the bottom of every post which is bound to skew the word cloud a little.
Certain key words are still prominent and have been in each word cloud indicating I am staying true to the blogs original aim as stated in About The Blog.

If you read the blog you would have noted that I also use Twitter the microblogging platform. Here I can promote the blog, place links to articles I find of interest and also receive them from a wide range of people. You can find me as, surprisingly(?) as @BiteTheDust. At the risk of sounding one-dimensional it also reflects the aim of the blog and one of the main reasons I use social networking. To disperse information.
There is one little surprise. I didn’t realise I mentioned “death” so much in Twitter.

I bought a new hat the other day. The old one after several years of being shoved on my boofhead every day is starting to get a little worn. But not worn enough that I couldn’t take it for my 10days of presentations and conference. A new zip tie to hold the crown made it very presentable! Well sort of.
The new hat is the same style as the old hat. Can you guess which is the new one? (if you click on the pic a bigger one mysteriously appears)

I have to admit the dust and sweat has got to it a little. Who would have thought it is a pharmacist’s work attire!
I haven’t posted regularly for some time. I apologise for that, but sometimes I get a bit busy or am in locations without internet access. Coming up daily until early December are my Indigenous News Updates. You may have noticed I try and theme them to make them a bit more appealing. Some of you really love them and others aren’t so keen. I find them a good research tool for me so they will be staying. Just ignore the RSS feed or email if it is not for you.
I also have a few RGH bulletins to place on the blog. Again not the bush stuff some of you want, so you will have to suffer for a few days. I will probably put them up over the weekend. The Pleasant Sunday Afternoon Posts will also recommence. Probably not this Sunday as I find as they are more personal (not work/policy) they take me longer to write.
So that’s where I am up to. I will leave you with a pic of one of our gentle summer breezes. The washing occasionally comes off the line in interesting hues and stiffened shapes.

I am hoping you all noticed a lack of posts recently and have been pining as a result.
Unfortunately work can take a huge chunk of my time or I may be where I have no internet connection (remember I am remote). The last six weeks has seen work take over. I am now slowly getting back into the swing of things. There are 11 posts in various stages of draft and many others rattling around in my mind (yes causing a headache before you comment) and a couple scheduled for release over the next few days.
Two guest posts will be published over the next couple of weeks. One takes a look at the Quality Use of Medicines Maximised for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People (QUMAX) Program and the second provides a remote area nurse’s perspective of having a pharmacist work out bush.
The last few days has seen the commencement of “Indigenous News Updates“. These consist of a brief line summary and a link to what I have been reading in Indigenous matters. I reckon one or two posts with between 3 to 6 links will be pumped out each day.
The blog theme will be updated and will hopefully be a bit cleaner. I have also started work on renewing my irregular “Phrenetic Pharmacist” drug newsletter. This is written for remote health staff in mind. This won’t be on “BitingTheDust”. Initially it will be email only.
If there is a topic on indigenous health you want information on contact me at bitingthedust AT bitethedust.com.au

After a month of blogging I posted a wordle picture summarising what I write about.
This is the wordle picture five months after I started blogging

from http://www.wordle.net/
I think I am being consistent in what I want to be writing about.
